2-a-day Saturday

My internal alarm clock woke me up at 7am this morning (as it does every dang morning I don’t have to get up for work).  I do label myself as a morning person, so I bounced up out of bed like usual.  After a jaunt around the foggy neighborhood, and a light snack,  I head to the gym.

Light breakfast, water and tennis shoes

I went to the gym knowing I would take the Kickbox Cardio class the first hour.  There were 12 of us in the class with the hard nosed brash instructor, but she worked us out well.  We did 3 turbo series in-between the 3 kickbox series, plus warm up and cool down.  I felt fantastic afterwards knowing I had made it to the end without passing out from exhaustion (since I hadn’t been to the class in weeks months), and I was sweaty (always a good sign).

...waiting for class to begin

I had thought to myself that I would also go to Pilates class after Kickbox Cardio.  So to make myself accountable, I invited my friend Diane to join me.  And she did.  But I would have went to Pilates anyway immediately after the cardio class.  It was the same instructor and today I think she kinda took it easy on us.  Though we did alot of hard moves, alot of leg work and arm strengthening, it wasn’t aerobic and no sweat was brought to the surface.  But it was a good workout!

I had the same beanstalk instructor for both classes this morning and she kept telling me in between breaths and calling out the moves that I had the “cutest workout clothes.”  She said in her headpiece speaker “doesn’t she have the cutest workout clothes.”  I thought it was a nice compliment.  I mean, for anyone to think someone looks nice in gym clothes, wow, spandex at that.  She mentioned my outfit in both classes.  And this wasn’t the first time she’s liked my outfit.  During the summer I wore a neon yellow pajama tank top from Walmart and she thought it was so cool.  I did fess up and tell her I got it at Wally World too in front of the whole class.  And even when I was walking out of the front entrance to the gym, one of my classmates says “you do look really cute today with your matching headband and all.”  Sweet.  Thanks chicas!

Tank top, spandex and sneaks

I guess I was on a roll and felt so good, I took the doggies on another jaunt around the neighborhood when I got home.  And I ran in to my husband and his friend who were out running their route.

My husband went to the grocery store and made us salads from their salad bar for lunch.  Mine included spinach leaves, lotsa onions, broccoli, chickpeas, chopped eggs, feta and parmesan cheeses.  I spritzed on some vinaigrette dressing before I ate it.

Now all I wanna doo-o-o-o-o do-0-0-0-0 do-o-o-o-o is relax, feet up with a hot cup of tea!
