These little sausage cheese toasts have become a staple in our family. Seems at almost every family gathering these are brought out to munch on. And they go fast!
These are very simple to make. 4 ingredients. And the best part is that you can make them ahead and freeze until ready to bake and eat!
Sausage Cheese Toasts
- 1 loaf party rye mini bread loaf
- 1 Lb. sausage
- 1 Lb. hamburger
- 1 Lb. Velveeta cheese
In a large pan on the stovetop, cook and brown hamburger and sausage together. Drain grease from cooked meats. Return meats to pan on stovetop and add cubed Velveeta cheese. Cook on low heat until all cheese is melted. Stir thoroughly.
Align mini bread slices on large cookie sheet. Top each bread slice with heaping tablespoon full of the meat/cheese mixture. At this point you can either bake them or let them cool and place in freezer safe container until you need to bake them.
You do not need to defrost these (if they were frozen) before baking.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 min. until warm in the center and slightly browned.
Serve warm. Enjoy~
