Sunday was our big holiday party hosted by moi and the mister. And these strikingly brilliant red cupcakes made it on to my holiday party menu. I just used a box of red velvet cake mix and swirled on the cream cheese icing myself, then topped with red sugar flakes.
And these Brownie Wrapped Oreos. Yes, that is what I said. A brownie covered Oreo. Total sinful deliciousness and fun to make. Here’s the recipe link. Although mine do not look like Jenny’s. It is all in the shape of your muffin pan and how much non-stick spray you coat the bottom of the pan with.
And the punch. The red punch. The red punch that no one spilled the entire party including all the kids that were here. Guess who spills it? I came home from work last night and spilled red punch on my carpet. Geesh~ It was made with Fresca and cherry limeade. I don’t think I had ever had Fresca before, and do you know that it has zero, zip, zilch, nada calories, sugar and caffeine. I am certain that won’t be my last Fresca purchase!
Yep, those are orange peels that I cut into the shape of a Christmas tree. Just a cute addition to the glass dispenser of punch 🙂
I had to include some fruit admist all the sweet treats so I skewered-up these grapes and strawberries on kabob sticks. Of course you could have ran that through the chocolate fountain if you wanted!
The chocolate fountain was a flowin’! Pure, drippy, warm milk chocolate fondue!
For dipping I had a huge bowl of fresh, sweet strawberries, fluffy marshmallows, crispy Rice Krispie treats, your finger and crunchy animal crackers.
Could you ask for a better dessert?
Here’s a pic of me with some of my girlfriends that were at the party. You can’t tell what team we were rooting for during the game can you?! And the men in blue pulled out a win, yeah-rah 🙂 (Insert toe touch and cartwheel here in celebration. You can’t blame me, I used to be a cheerleader!)
I will take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to my friends for helping me clean up after the party. Do you know how long it would have taken me to do that all by myself? Way too long! My husband thanks you too because he didn’t want to do it either. I love you gals~
Today is National Bah Humbug Day. A day designated to take a break from all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season when you are allowed to take out your frustrations and vent just a little by shouting “Bah Humbug!”
But who wants to do that?! It’s almost Christmas Day! And for that, I am thankful!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today is the shortest day of the year. And the longest night of the year! Yeah!
I do not like how it gets dark so early in the winter time. Because when it’s dark I feel like I should be in bed. And 5pm is NOT bedtime!
Happy Winter Solstice 2010!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Come back tomorrow for all the pictures from our holiday party!!!
What is the worst part part of the short days and long nights in the winter for you?
Tons of great food! A great time too! Looking forward to next year! Thank you for great food and being an outstanding hostess! XoXo
Your welcome 🙂 Thanks for helping me!
Looks like a great time. And I would have just parked myself in front of the chocolate fountain and never left.
I’m not even clicking on that link for the brownie wrapped oreos. If I add one more thing to my baking list I’ll pass out, so I’m not even going to look…today anyway!
Well then….make the brownie wrapped Oreo’s for New Years Eve. There is your solution girl! They are fabulous, people were biting in to them and then asking “what is this, it is so good?!”
I hate win it’s practically dark when I walk into the gym and pitch black when I leave! And yes, I feel like I need to go to bed and it’s 8pm.
I think people should hire you to do their parties. You’re awesome!
Thank you so much for the compliment! 🙂
All that party food looks so good! I’ve never eaten from a chocolate fountain but now I want to try 🙂
You definitely have to try a chocolate fountain, the dipping possibilities are endless!
Looks like you had a great time with the party! Everything looks great! Love those cute Christmas tree orange peels!
Thanks Peggy!
Good God! I’m starving….Cream cheese icing-yumm!
Thanks for the comment! Looks like a great party! Very cute pics! (I love exclamation points obviously!!)
I often find myself using too many exclamation points too! But I’m excited and want to emphasize everything, ha!!!
I love when it gets darker earlier and I love the cold weather. I seriously have no clue why I live in NC, I need to move north!! Today is a total bah humbug day for me, I will be happy when it’s over.
PS–Are you from Indy? I was born and grew up there! I LOVE your top!
And I wish it were warmer, I should move south! Yes, I am from Indy. My Colts top is from Kohl’s 🙂 Thanks!
Peach Fresca is my absolute favorite. It is so good. I also like Blue Mountain’s Cherry Vanilla Creme soda.
yum yum yum. I love your brownie treats with the snowflakes on top! so cute!
Peach Fresca sounds really good to me. I’ll have to look for it! And thanks for the compliment 🙂
I am glad to know that your brownie wrapped Oreos didn’t turn out like Jenny’s either! I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one who strived (twice!) to make them look as great as hers!
It must be the pan we used Jenn! No matter how they look, they still taste scrumptious!!!
